Council Building Reservations at Campground 

Reservations for the building can be made through Will Brock (698-6393) (webrock4@att.net). Reservations are on a first come first serve basis after October Reservations by non-Council Cadet Clubs can't be made until November 1. Your reservation is valid only if paid within two weeks of reservation. Send payment to Will Brock: 6825 Aleda St SE, Cutlerville, MI 49508 payable to: "Grand Rapids Cadet Council". The campground is located at 3358 32nd St, Hopkins, MI 49328. Reservations should be made 2 weeks in advance.

General Rules

The building is for your use.  The building was in good condition when you arrived – leave the building in good condition when you leave.  Please observe the following:

  1. No more than one (1) person in a bunk.

  2. Keep discipline over your group.

  3. Keep food off of bunks. No eating on bunks!

  4. No matches or candles allowed on bunks.

  5. No Knives in hands while on bunks!

  6. No marking on bunks, walls or woodwork is allowed.

  7. When food is spilled on the floor, clean it up immediately.

  8. Keep cadets from making fires around the pond or building

  9. Keep cadets from throw anything (sticks, logs, rocks) into the pond or on the ice

  10. Absolutely NO use of firearms or fireworks anywhere on the property (Air powered guns or rockets are permitted)

  11. NO paint-ball or off road vehicles may be use on Council property!

  12. (Bicycles are permitted)

Arrival Instructions

  1. Set thermostat to 5 degree lower than desired temperature and clean ashes out of the Wood-stove.

  2. Start Fire in Wood-stove(s) to heat the area(s) you are using.

  3. No cooking on nor in the Wood-stove.

Departure Instructions

Building must be left in clean condition when you leave.  The last persons to leave are responsible for carrying out all steps 1 through 17 of these instructions.  Equipment for cleanup (mops, brooms, pails) is in storage room under the stairs.  Please put back and hang up equipment when you are finished.

  1. All sinks must be cleaned (2 in kitchens and 2 in bathrooms)

  2. All toilets must be cleaned (1 in each bathroom and urinal)

  3. Empty wastebaskets in bathrooms.

  4. Wood-stove: leave logs in stove to burnout.

  5. The kitchens must be cleaned. Clean counters, stoves, refrigerators and cabinets (inside and out).

  6. Turn off the Refrigerators and prop the refrigerator doors open.

  7. The bunks must be clean and left in the down position.

  8. The stairway must be swept or vacuumed.

  9. The floors (main floor, kitchens and bathrooms) must be swept and mopped.

  10. All garbage must be taken with you. Check outside around the building for any garbage also. Plastic bags are in the kitchen..

  11. Set thermostat to 45 degrees downstairs. Upstairs thermostat should be turned to off.

  12. Double check that all windows are Closed.

  13. Check that all the stove nobs in both kitchens are turned off.

  14. Leave both bathroom doors open, but close the door to the downstairs room (between the bathrooms).

  15. Turn off all lights.

  16. Double check that all outside doors are locked.

  17. Close the gate when you leave and check that it is locked.

  • Whole building: $120

  • Lower floor: $50

  • Upper Floor: $80

Rate for Tri-Council Clubs that don't work at the campground work bee:

  • Whole building: $200

  • Lower floor: $80

  • Upper Floor: $120

Rate for Non-Tri-Council-Cadet-Clubs or youth groups and etc: Whole building: $250
